Ardith Blumenthal, Covenant Children, Inc.'s CEO, was formerly a registered nurse practitioner, she evolved into a corporate businesswoman, founding, developing and ultimately divesting several healthcare related businesses. Early in her career, Ardith served as a Director of Nursing Services before serving as CEO and President of several health care companies. Since retiring from business in 1996, she has devoted her time to several charitable endeavors, culminating in Covenant Children, Inc. Ardith resides in Weekhawken, NJ, along with her husband Andrew.
Beverly Hoch-Steinel is a world renowned coloratura soprano, singing chamber music, opera and concerts on stages throughout the world. She is Assistant Professor of Voice at Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX. She serves on the boards of several international music-related institutions, including Covenant Children, Inc. She and her husband Michael Steinel, Professor of Jazz at the University of North Texas, understood immediately the contribution of music to the mission of Covenant Children, Inc. and have played critical roles in its development. Beverly has contributed five concerts to the Komen Race for the cure.
Charles A. Schmelzenbach is an educator and, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, has long been involved with improving the status of at-risk children in Kenya, Swaziland and South Africa. After spending several years as school principal in the remote villages of Alaska's far north, he returned to Africa, expanding the university program founded by the Schmelzenbach family and, along with his wife Cathie, developed the primary school curriculum for Kenya's school system. Charlie lives on the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska where he and Cathie own and operate a resort. He is an avid photographer.
